Dr. Nojoumian's Persian Learner series provides authentic exposure to the language as it's used day to day.   I have taken three years of Spanish in high school and retained very little of what I learned. The structure for the public school Spanish curriculum is very rigid and forced, shoving grammar and vocabulary down your throat. This book is different. This series of Persian Learner textbooks progresses so naturally and effectively that you truly retain what you learn. Through this awesome book, from its incredible exercises to its immerse cultural lessons, you can truly connect with the Persian language as well as the rich culture behind it. Through Part One, I learned how to read and write at a pace I never thought possible. After developing my proficiency in Part Two, I found myself developing truly legitimate and credible Persian language skills that I feel comfortable expressing with family and fellow Persian speakers. I am seriously profoundly grateful for this book. I am eager to explore the next level book and continue to develop my Persian language proficiency through this awesome and engaging curriculum!

  Persian Learner Part One provides a good basis for learning the fundamentals of the Persian language. It is not overwhelming to learn the large alphabet because the format in which the letters are learned makes it easy to progress. There is an English/Persian dictionary in the back which is very helpful. Also, the pictures, texts, and readings are very cultural so it gives a good insight not just on the language but also some cultural sayings. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book as it is a very good starting point either for someone who is a complete beginner, or someone who can somewhat speak the language and want's to go the extra step and learn how to read and write.
